Welcome Kindergarten Families and Students

NAFCS Corporation has opened kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year.

  • If you have a 5 year old by August 1, 2025, he/she is eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Are you a current resident of Floyd County, Indiana? If no, please fill out the 2025-26 Transfer Request. More information is available below under Out-Of-County Resident Transfer.
  • If you are a Floyd County resident and requesting a transfer to another NAFC school for the 2025-26 school year, please complete the 2025-26 Transfer Request.
  • Do you need to know what school your child will attend (based on home address)? If so, please use the school search tool below or you may call our Transportation Office at 812-542-4707.
  • Parents need to complete the pre-enrollment process for the school zoned for your residence. If you completed this at the January 2025 Kindergarten Open House, you do not need to repeat this process. If you have not completed this process, please contact the school that your child will attend (based on home address) for further information and next steps.
  • Families need to provide to the school the child’s immunization record, proof of residency and legal birth certificate.

Once you contact the school, you will begin receiving information about the upcoming school year.

    Out-of-County Resident Transfer Request

    New Albany Floyd County School (NAFCS) welcomes families from outside district boundaries who want to be a part of our school community. We love opening our doors to new students and creating a place where they can learn, grow and reach their full potential.

    NAFCS maintains out-of-county transfers in as many schools as possible, however due to NAFCS's growing enrollment there may be certain grade levels where not every request can be accommodated. NAFCS carefully reviews each transfer request to make sure every student continues to have a positive, enriching school experience.

    Non-NAFCS Resident Enrollment Request Guidelines

    Requests are submitted online by completing the 2025-26 Transfer Request. A separate form should be submitted for each child.

    • Residency: Please complete the transfer request form if you are a resident of Indiana but not a resident of Floyd County.
    • Transportation: NAFCS district is not responsible for transportation to the requested school.
    • Term: Students already attending a NAFC school on a transfer DO NOT have to reapply to continue for the next school year.

    • Transfer requests will be processed by an administrator, and parents will be notified as soon as possible.

    In County Resident Transfer Request

    New Albany Floyd County Schools (NAFCS) welcomes in-district transfer requests from NAFC resident families who desire to enroll their child(ren) in a different NAFC school than their assigned attendance area school.

    NAFCS maintains In-District Transfers in as many schools as possible, however due to NAFCS's growing enrollment there may be certain grade levels where not every request can be accommodated.
